Wilson Lee is a distinguished mechanical engineering professional with a Master of Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS). His unique profile combines academia and industry practice, having served as a full-time lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic and as Sales Engineer in Danfoss and Carrier. He is a recognized authority in the local commercial refrigeration sector, with a proven track record that spans sales, technical training, and conducting seminars across the region. Currently, he is the Technical Director of VENTCO Engineering.
His deep theoretical knowledge and system design capabilities are evidenced by two landmark projects. For the Skylight Building, he designed a highly efficient hot-gas defrost system for 76 cold rooms. This innovative approach eliminated electric heater replacement costs and provided ongoing energy savings by repurposing waste heat. Subsequently, Wilson spearheaded the design of a massive 78,000 sqft temperature-controlled facility. He was a pioneer in successfully implementing a system with an evaporative condenser, hot-gas defrost system, and other energy-saving design aspects. This was estimated to lower electrical consumption by more than 20% compared to conventional methods.
In 2015, VENTCO successfully delivered 76 cold rooms across three levels of the Skylight Building. The project featured a strategically implemented hot-gas defrost system, which has performed with complete reliability for the past decade. This innovative solution eliminated the need for electric heater replacements and reduced energy consumption by recycling rejected system heat for the defrosting process, resulting in significant and ongoing cost savings for the client.
